MAPPS (Math and Parent Partners) Train-the-Trainer

What is MAPPS?

MAPPS (Math and Parent Partners) is a research-based parent involvement program that was developed at the University of Arizona. This six hour training is available for school district personnel: parent educators, parent involvement specialists, math coaches, math resource teachers, and other educators interested in developing a mathematics parent involvement program for their families. The MAPPS program links parent involvement and increased student achievement in mathematics. MAPPS workshops have been developed for grades K – 8, and can be adapted for use at the high school level. Families learn together as they practice hands-on math activities.

For more information or to schedule a MAPPS training, please contact Mari T. Fernandez, Ph.D., Director, Florida PIRC at USF.
