By law, each PIRC must devote at least 50% of its funds to benefit disadvantaged families. The Florida PIRC at USF takes both the letter and the spirit of this mandate seriously. We especially seek to support and empower families who might be disconnected from their child’s education and school. Our goal is for all families to be effectively involved in their children’s education, in whatever ways best suit their culture, language, or geographic and individual needs. We seek to do this by providing quality training and information directly to families. We also do this indirectly by providing quality training and information to the educators, community, and faith-based personnel who work with families.
