Families Reading Together
What are the best ways to read to my child during these early years? Find out the “whens” and “hows” of reading to your child and the benefits of doing this early. The workshop also focuses on the importance of making reading an enjoyable experience between parent and child.

Kitchen Reading and Math -
This workshop is designed to be an interactive workshop for parents and pre-K children, though the activities can be adapted to be used with children up to second grade. The activities are designed to show parents that they do not need to invest in expensive educational materials to help their children succeed in school. Everything they need to make learning fun and meaningful can be found in most kitchens, or by taking an inexpensive trip to the grocery store or dollar store. Activities include simple counting, measuring, sequencing, finding and writing letters of the alphabet, making shopping lists, and things to do that improve fine motor control.
Partners in Caring: Parents and Teachers Working Together for Early Success

When parents and educators work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect, the child is the winner and will ultimately experience greater success in school.
